How to get from San Francisco airport to the city centre
SFO is the largest airport in the San Francisco Bay Area and the second busiest in California. It is located 14 miles from the city centre and there are plenty of transport options available.
- Trains: Both San Francisco airports offer a BART service. BART is a quick train that will take you directly from the airport to downtown San Francisco. First, you will need to catch the internal airport train - AirTrain to get to the BART station. The ride to town will cost around $10 and takes up to 25 minutes to get to town.
- Taxis/Uber/Lyft: These are available just outside the terminal. Expect to pay anything between $45 and $55 for the ride to town. The ride should take around 25 minutes but it could be longer depending on traffic.
- Shuttle Buses: Airport Express offers shuttle buses from the airport to town. They operate between 5:30 am and 12:30 am. The price will range between $28 and $38.
