Whitworth Art Gallery is an awesome, red building housing magnificent art from famous artists including Van Gogh, Picasso, Turner, Bacon, Hockney and Lowry, making it an absolute must-visit for art enthusiasts.
Chill Factore: This is definitely a unique place. The longest indoor snow slope in the UK. It extends for over 180 meters and offers a tonne of fun for anybody who loves to ski, snowboard or just potter about in the snow. It’s a great place if you want to learn how to ski. The place also offers other activities like climbing, air boarding and snowscoot.
Manchester Airport (MAN) is located around 10 miles south of the city centre. There are many transport options available on arrival.
Taxi: Black taxis are available at the airport. There is no need to book a taxi in advance. The cabs take up to 5 people, drivers accept cash and credit cards. The journey to the city centre takes around 25 minutes and will cost you £25.
Bus: There are many bus routes available at the airport to take you to the city centre. Buses run all day up to late-night including weekend and bank holidays. The journey to the city centre takes around 30 minutes and it costs £5.
Train: It’s super easy to get from the Airport to the city by train. The train station is located no more than 10 minutes walk from the Terminals. Trains run every 10 minutes, which makes them a very attractive option if you don’t want to spend money on a taxi. The journey from the airport to the city centre takes approximately 20 minutes and a ticket to Picadilly station costs only £2.90 if you book in advance.
