How to get from the Frankfurt airport to the city centre?

There are several options to go from the airport to downtown Frankfurt, such as taxis, buses and trains. The distance to the city centre is roughly 15km, and trips can last from 15min by train to 20-25min by taxi.

Taxis: Taxis are available in the taxi ranks outside the first level of Terminal 1 and the ground level of Terminal 2. The average cost for a transfer from Frankfurt Airport to downtown is around €30.

Bus: The bus stops are located either in Terminal 1 (ground level) and Terminal 2 (second level), and the trip to the city centre is around 30 minutes. They run from 6AM to midnight and a single ticket costs €4.35.

Trains: Frankfurt Airport is served by 3 different types of train services: the S Bahn, or regional train lines, the U Bahn, which is the Frankfurt Metro, and the long-distance trains, that allow you to go anywhere in Germany and Europe.
