How to get from the airport to the city centre?

The journey time between New York JFK Airport and the city centre in Manhattan takes around 1h 30 minutes and covers a distance of around 33km/20 miles. You have several ways to go, ranging from taxis, buses, trains and even the subway.

Taxi: You may head directly for the taxi stand located outside each terminal. Taxis at JFK Airport charge a flat fare of $52 for trips between the airport and Manhattan.

Bus: The MTA provides regular Q3, Q6, Q7, Q10, Q10 LTD and B15 services between JFK Airport, Brooklyn, Queens and beyond with subway connections. Journeys can last up to 2 hours and will cost between $5-$14.

Trains:The AirTrain system is the fastest and easiest way to move around JFK Airport, connecting passenger terminals to airport parking lots, shuttle pick-up areas, the rental car center, and NYC's public transportation network at Jamaica and Howard Beach Stations, where you can find the subway, the Long Island Rail Road, and public buses.
