Things to do and places to see in Bordeaux

Central to the famous wine-growing region, Bordeaux boasts a rich heritage and houses numerous historic and modern monuments.

  • The Miroir d'Eau
One of the city’s main attractions, the "Mirror of Water" is installed facing the Place de la Bourse, consisting of a slab of granite covered with water that plays with the aquatic reflections.
  • Cité du Vin
This boldly shaped building contains a very particular museum dedicated to the universal, living heritage of wine. It offers a journey around the world, where you can learn about and taste the wines of the world with a panoramic view of Bordeaux and the surrounding area.
  • Bordeaux wine trail
Of course, there are several wineries in Bordeaux, so why not try to explore all the key appellations (regions): Medoc (St Estèphe, Pauillac, Margaux), Sauternes & Graves (Pessac-Léognan), Saint-Laurent Emilion, Blaye (Côtes de Blaye) & Bourg, Entre-deux-mers (Cadillac), and the Libournais (Pomerol, Fronsac).
