Remains of the Berlin Wall can be seen in various parts of the city. In 1961 a border crossing was created from East Germany to the American occupied side. Though the wall is gone, the Checkpoint Charlie border crossing remains and can be visited at Friedrichstra\u00dfe today. This area is also great for shopping.<\/p>\n
