This is a fascinating place; one of the very best of the city\u2019s museums. Constructed by Zozimus Bar, these colourful umbrellas form a decorative canopy for pedestrians.<a href=\"https:\/\/zozimusbar.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Zozimus Bar<\/a> is known for its cocktails and is a great place to sip on a drink. The area opened in 2007 and was designed by American architect Martha Schwartz. It&#8217;s been dubbed \u201cSilicon Docks\u201d due to being the location for many tech multinationals like Google and Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy a coffee and a pastry in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilvalentino.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Il Valentino<\/a>,\u00a0 catch a show in the <a href=\"https:\/\/bordgaisenergytheatre.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bord Gais Theatre<\/a> or grab a delicious dinner in one of the many restaurants in the area.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Christ Church and St. Patrick\u2019s Cathedral<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Ancient, dramatic and intriguing, Dublin\u2019s two cathedrals make a striking pair. Built beside a well where Ireland\u2019s patron saint baptised converts, St Patrick\u2019s dates back to 1220 and is filled with monuments, 19th-century stained glass and a beautiful Lady Chapel.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aerlingus.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Christ-Church-Cathedral.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Christ Church Cathedral<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Just a 10-minute walk away, Christ Church has attracted pilgrims for almost 1,000 years, and today one of its biggest attractions is its medieval crypt. There are plenty of other reasons to visit, but some may be fascinated (if not a little creeped out) by the Chapel of St Laurence O\u2019Toole &#8211; a heart-shaped shrine contains the saint\u2019s embalmed heart.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"component text-block rich-text  padM padBottom\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>ESCAPE TO THE SEASIDE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Howth &amp; Clontarf<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Hop on the Dart (one of Dublin&#8217;s urban light rails) from the city centre and head north to Howth. Start off from the east pier following the cliff path along the east side of Howth head.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll get views of the ruins of St Mary\u2019s Abbey, and as you head uphill the fantastic view is an excuse to stop and rest the legs, look south over Dublin Bay, and north (if you\u2019re lucky and it\u2019s a clear day) right up to the distant Mourne Mountains in County Down.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aerlingus.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Howth-Head-1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Howth Head with Baily Lighthouse, Dublin<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Stroll along the pier and you\u2019ll find\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.islandferries.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ireland\u2019s Eye Ferries,\u00a0<\/a>a fourth-generation family business running trips around Ireland\u2019s Eye. The scenic tour takes in wonderful views and wildlife and lasts about 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re feeling adventurous, you can stop off on the island and spend an hour or two exploring or simply relaxing on the quiet beaches. The island is steeped in history, from Monks to Vikings to Norsemen and Napoleon.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aerlingus.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Poolbeg-Chimneys.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Poolbeg chimneys<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>In the coastal suburb of Clontarf, follow the smell of sea air from the promenade across the wooden footbridge and continue down Bull Walk, enjoying an unrivalled view of Dublin Bay and the iconic Poolbeg Chimneys. At the sea edge, Dollymount Strand&#8217;s 5km stretch of sand dunes and beach awaits. The surrounding island is a nature reserve and the beach is popular with kitesurfers.<\/p>\n<p>Dublin&#8217;s beautiful coastline can also be enjoyed from a different perspective. Stand up paddleboarding is becoming hugely popular and for good reason.\u00a0Unlike surfing, paddleboarding is very easy to learn and within one hour of tuition, you can become very comfortable in the water.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aerlingus.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/fish-and-chips-at-beshoffs-in-dublin-ireland-1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-8 offset-xl-2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>All the sea air and exploring will surely work up an appetite, and no trip to the seaside is complete without some fish and chips. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beshoffs.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beshoff Bros in Howth<\/a> have been serving up mouthwatering fresh fish n\u2019 chips since 1939.
