A weekend in Miami
Welcome to Miami!
Art deco buildings, beautiful beaches, buzzing nightlife and a quirky arts scene are just some of the highlights that the city has.
This guide goes through all the must-see places and must do things for a weekend in Miami.

Day one

Kickstart your morning by taking a stroll along the shore of South Beach.
Afterwards, visit the Art Deco Museum to get an insight into the fabulous architectural district. Then take a walk along Ocean Drive to see the architecture first hand, if you like you can take a guided tour of the district.
Get lunch at La Sandwicherie.
A café specialising in huge sandwiches, baguettes and croissants. Eat in or get your food to go and head to the beach for a picnic.

Continue your culture crawl at Wynwood Walls.
Wynwood is an outdoor museum dedicated to street art. The sprawling complex includes a garden, indoor gallery and the studio of local artist Peter Tunney.
Grab a drink at Wynwood Brewing Company to sample the microbrew scene.
When you’re ready for dinner, Kyu is one of the city’s hippest restaurants. The menu is pan-Asian wood-fired cuisine and you can get small or large plates – perfect for sharing.
Day two

Start the day in Little Havana.
Get breakfast at Versailles Cuban restaurant, sit in or order takeaway from their hole in the wall. Enjoy sweet, strong Cuban coffee with cream cheese pastries and empanadas.
Check out the domino action in Máximo Gómez Park.
Learn some Cuban history at the Cuban Memorial Park. You can also book a tour of Little Havana that will give you an insight into the culture of the area and you can explore cigar shops, rum shops and fruit markets.

Explore Bayside Marketplace
Featuring over 150 speciality shops, cafes and restaurants, a good place to grab some lunch before you browse the boutiques in the outdoor mall.

Spend the late afternoon strolling through one of Miami’s best known attractions – the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
It’s an Italian Renaissance-style villa in the middle of a lush coconut grove. Much of the original house is still intact and has a huge collection of vintage furniture. The gardens are the real highlight, there are sculptures, fountains and vines draped everywhere. The Garden Mound gives you a great view of the whole estate.
For your last dinner, treat yourself to some delicious Southern comfort food at Yardbird.
You can feast on shrimp and grits, St Louis-style pork ribs and smoked brisket, but it’s most famous for it’s amazingly good plate of fried chicken and waffles smothered in bourbon maple syrup.

Got more time?
Just a short drive outside Miami, Everglades National Park is over 1.5million acres or swamplands. There’s so much to see and do here, take a tour to spot some alligators or kayak in the canals and lakes. If you prefer to stay on dry land, there are lots of walking trails and boardwalks for wildlife viewing.
