Celebrating Our New Direct Flight from Dublin to Las Vegas!

On Friday, October 25th, Aer Lingus celebrated its Inaugural direct flight from Dublin to the entertainment capital of the world, and we pulled out all the stops to make it a day to remember. From live entertainment to exciting giveaways, Dublin Airport was buzzing with energy as we officially opened the gateway to one of the most iconic destinations on the planet.
Aer Lingus made history by launching its inaugural direct flight from Dublin to Las Vegas. This new route, operated three times weekly on an Airbus A330-300, provides Irish travellers with a direct gateway to the iconic Neon City. Speaking ahead of the landmark flight, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry remarked, “Aer Lingus’ new direct connection between Ireland and Nevada is a significant milestone for our growth across North America. We are marking the occasion by becoming the first airline to activate on the Exosphere, the exterior of one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, showcasing our shamrock to the world. Whether it’s a landmark birthday or a special trip to see all that Las Vegas has to offer, we look forward to bringing our customers straight to the heart of the Neon City.”
We also had an Aer Lingus-branded bus touring through the heart of Las Vegas. Onboard entertainment added to the excitement as we explored the city’s iconic highlights. The experience continued at the Exosphere—more widely known as the Sphere—which features the world’s largest high-resolution LED screen. It served as the perfect venue for Aer Lingus to boldly showcase its iconic branding. This special activation, combined with the launch of our new direct route, marked a significant moment in our transatlantic expansion, offering travelers not just a flight, but an unforgettable experience from the very start of their journey.
Back in Dublin Airport, the festivities mirrored the high-energy excitement of Las Vegas. The terminal was transformed into a vibrant celebration space with colourful balloons, a dedicated stage, and an electric atmosphere. The day began with speeches to commemorate this momentous occasion, followed by an exciting lineup of events. And who better to kick things off than the King himself? Elvis Presley (or at least a very convincing tribute artist) delighted passengers with iconic hits, sparking sing-alongs and even impromptu dance moves!
Passengers were also treated to a thrilling ‘Spin the Wheel’ contest, where one lucky winner grabbed a breathtaking helicopter ride over Las Vegas, courtesy of Papillion Helicopter Tours. As a bonus, every traveller on board received tickets to the world-famous show Awakening, giving them a taste of what makes Las Vegas such an exhilarating destination.
