Best of luck to our Flying Shamrocks: We’re supporting The Gavin Glynn Foundation

This Sunday 30th April, 12 of our cabin crew members will be by abseiling 200 feet down Smithfield Chimney, Dublin to raise funds for the Gavin Glynn Foundation.

This group is part of a wonderful circle of over 80 cabin crew that volunteer their personal time to help children and their families who need to travel overseas to receive much-needed care.

The Gavin Glynn Foundation helps families of children battling cancer to travel overseas for treatment not available in Ireland and believes that all children with cancer deserve the best care, wherever in the world that might be.

Cabin crew member, Niamh Forrester, who availed of the services of the Gavin Glynn Foundation during the successful treatment of her son, was inspired to begin this initiative back in 2022. Niamh recruited a number of her colleagues to support families with check-in, escorting, handover to the operating crew, to name a few tasks.

The Cabin Crew volunteers also work with the support of our people in our Flight and Ground Operations teams and with daa staff.

If you would like to support our Cabin Crew in achieving their fundraising goal this weekend, you can donate to their fundraising page here.

We would like to wish ‘The Flying Shamrocks’ the best of luck with their abseil this weekend.
