Best Airline to Europe
FOR the fourth year in a row Aer Lingus is celebrating winning the award for ‘Best Airline to Europe ex. Belfast’ at the annual Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards, held at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, last Friday 18th October 2013.
Around 500 VIPs and decision-makers from the Province, the Republic and from all parts of the industry on the UK Mainland were at the Awards gala, hosted by TV personality Les Dennis with 27 different awards handed over seven categories, as voted for by the Travel Trade.
Business Development Manager for Aer Lingus Northern Ireland, Andrea Hunter said; “We couldn’t be happier that our service to Europe has once again been recognised as the best of the best.”
The airline has been in Belfast for almost seven years now and is preparing to celebrate its first anniversary at George Best Belfast City Airport, where it operates its summer schedule flights to Faro, Malaga, Palma, London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
Ms Hunter continued: “We believe that our brand values set us apart from the crowd. Feedback from our customers indicates that things like seat allocation, advanced selection, delicious pre-booked meals, top class entertainment, our newly launch on board Wi-Fi on long haul flights and flying into centrally located airports make a real difference to our customers’ Aer Lingus experience. That coupled with great value fares and of course the great care they get from our professional and friendly staff make them feel very much valued.”
Complementary to the growing regional and European services out of George Best Belfast City Airport, from April 2014, Aer Lingus transatlantic routes from Dublin to Toronto and San Francisco will provide valuable access for Northern Ireland business and tourism.
The airline will now operate five flights per week from Dublin to San Francisco. A new Dublin to Toronto route will offer a daily service in the summer and up to four flights per week in the winter.
