What is an Aer Lingus gift voucher?
An Aer Lingus gift voucher is an electronic cash-value voucher that can be used to purchase an electronic ticket on aerlingus.com for Aer Lingus flights including fares, taxes, charges and bag fees*.
* Bag fees may be paid for with vouchers if bags are pre-booked during the purchase of the flight(s).

Are Aer Lingus gift vouchers sold in specific denominations?
Gift vouchers are available in EUR, GBP and USD in the following denominations: 25, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500. Vouchers can only be redeemed against bookings in the currency of issue. Flights originating from Ireland and Euro zones are priced in Euro (EUR), flights originating from the UK are priced in Sterling (GBP) and flights originating from the United States are priced in US Dollars (USD).
- Can I personalise my gift voucher?
Yes. There are various themes to choose from, i.e. General gift, Birthday, Christmas etc, and you may add a personal message and email it to the recipient.

Is there any limit to how many gift vouchers I can buy?
Only a single voucher can be purchased in a single transaction. If you require multiple gift vouchers, you may purchase them in separate transactions.

Do I need an email address when purchasing a gift voucher?
Yes. You need to provide your email address, which will be used to send you a receipt email of your purchase. Please ensure that the email address you provided is correct and the account is active.
- Does my gift voucher recipient need an e-mail address?
Yes. A gift voucher number and PIN will be sent to the recipient email address you provided at the time of purchase. Please ensure that the email address you provided is correct and the account is active.
- How will the recipient receive the gift voucher?
By email. A gift voucher number and PIN along with the sender's personalised message will be sent to the recipient email address provided at the time of purchase.

If you don't want the recipient to get the email straight away, for example a surprise gift, what can you do?
During the voucher purchase flow you can choose an Electronic Voucher delivery date (YYYY-MM-DD). This can be anywhere up to 3 months from purchase date. A confirmation and receipt will be sent to sender post purchase and the recipient will receive their personalised gift email on the date chosen for delivery.
- How long does it take to receive a gift voucher?
It is instant. Aer Lingus gift vouchers are issued immediately after they are purchased.
- Does my gift voucher expire?
Yes. A voucher is valid for 12 months (365 days) from the date of issue/activation and the validity of the voucher will not be extended.
- Is there a fee to purchase an Aer Lingus gift voucher?
Yes. An admin fee (EUR6/GBP6/USD8) is charged on the voucher purchase.
- Does the named recipient have to be the person using the gift voucher?
Yes. The name on the voucher and the name of the passenger(s) travelling must match with traveller's passport in order to redeem the voucher.
- What if I didn't receive my Aer Lingus gift voucher email?
Please contact the Aer Lingus Helpdesk. If you have an email filter, please allow your mailbox to receive emails from vouchers@aerlingus.com.

What forms of payment can I use to purchase gift vouchers?
Visa, Amex, Diners and MasterCard. Maestro/Switch/Solo may be used if you are purchasing a voucher in GBP. If you are purchasing a voucher in EUR, Laser may also be used.

Will I receive Gold Circle points by purchasing an Aer Lingus gift voucher?
No. It is not possible to receive Gold Circle points by purchasing vouchers.
Redeem vouchers
- Where can I redeem a gift voucher?
Vouchers purchased online from 9th November 2009:
These vouchers can only be redeemed at aerlingus.com for passengers travelling wholly on Aer Lingus flights. Vouchers cannot be redeemed through the Aer Lingus reservation offices, at airport ticket counters or travel agents.
Vouchers purchased over the phone or at the airport before the 9th of November 2009:
These vouchers cannot be redeemed online. Please call the Reservation centre to make a booking using a Credit/Debit Card, and the value of the purchase can be redeemed by sending the voucher to: Aer Lingus Ticketing Administration, Ground Floor, Head Office Building, Dublin Airport.

What can Aer Lingus gift vouchers be used for?
Vouchers are redeemable toward the purchase of the flight(s) and associated taxes, charges and fees that are collected as part of your flight booking. Bag fees may be paid for with vouchers if bags are pre-booked during the purchase of the flight(s).
- What are excluded to pay for with a gift voucher?
Vouchers cannot be used for:
- Bookings that involve flights operated by the partnership airlines (American Airlines, JetBlue Airways or United Airlines)
- Group bookings
- Bag fees pre-booked through the Manage Booking.
- Advance seat selection fee
- Travel insurance
- Car hire
- Hotels
- Change fees, additional fare for reissued or partially used tickets
- Food and beverages purchased at Sky Café or any products at Sky Shopping on board
- Theme park tickets

Can vouchers be used to make or confirm a Price Lock or Deposit booking?
No. Vouchers cannot be used to make or confirm a Price Lock or Deposit booking.

Does my Aer Lingus gift voucher expire?
Yes. A voucher is valid for 12 months (365 days) from the date of issue/activation and the validity of the voucher will not be extended.

How do I access a gift voucher number and PIN?
Your gift voucher number and an associated PIN will be emailed to the email account that was specified at the time of purchase.

How do I check my gift voucher balance?
You can check your voucher balance online at aerlingusvouchers.com under "Manage My Voucher" section.

Can I use the Aer Lingus gift voucher for other services or fees?
Vouchers can be redeemed for toward the purchase of the flight(s) and associated taxes, charges and fees that are collected as part of your flight booking. Bag fees may be paid for with vouchers if bags are pre-booked during the purchase of the flight(s). Vouchers may not be used for other products (e.g. car hire, hotels and travel insurance).

Can I receive a refund if there is a remaining balance on my gift voucher?
No. There is no refund given for vouchers already purchased. They will be expired after 12 months (365 days) from the date of issue/activation.

Can I receive a refund on travel purchased with a gift voucher?
No. Vouchers are not refundable.
- Can I use my gift voucher towards the purchase of Group bookings?
No. Vouchers cannot be used to make group bookings.
- Can the Aer Lingus gift voucher be used towards the purchase of Gold Circle Travel Reward tickets?
No. Vouchers cannot be redeemed as part of Gold Circle Travel Reward bookings.
- I didn't receive my PIN by e-mail. How do I get a new one?
You can request a new PIN for your voucher at aerlingusvouchers.com under "Manage My Voucher" section.
- I'm having a problem with my gift voucher.
Please refer to the "Gift Voucher Help" section at aerlingusvouchers.com.
- What should I do if I lost my gift voucher number or PIN?
Please contact the Aer Lingus helpdesk to get the voucher number and PIN to be sent to your email address.
- What if the value of my gift voucher is more than the price of my booking?
If there is any credit remaining left on redemption of the voucher, it can be used towards future flight purchases until the credit balance reaches zero within the original validity period.
- What if the value of my gift voucher is less than the price of my booking?
The difference may be paid with a credit card.
- What if I can't use my gift voucher?
Vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable. Vouchers are valid for the name shown on the vouchers specified by the purchaser at the time of purchase.

Can I transfer the balance of a gift voucher to another gift voucher?
No. Vouchers are non-transferable.

Can I use multiple gift vouchers at one time?
No. Only one voucher may be used per transaction.

Can multiple gift vouchers be consolidated onto one Aer Lingus gift voucher?
No. This facility is not yet available on aerlingus.com.

Can value be added once an Aer Lingus gift voucher is issued/activated?
No. It is not possible to add values to issued vouchers.

Can I use my gift voucher on other airlines?
No. Vouchers are permitted for Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional flights. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for bookings that involve flights operated by partner airlines (American Airlines, JetBlue Airways or United Airlines).

Can I use my gift voucher toward the purchase of food and beverage at Sky Café or any products at Sky Shopping on board?
No. It is not possible to use vouchers toward the purchase of products on board.

Can I use my gift voucher at airport ticket counters or travel agents?
No. Vouchers can only be redeemed at aerlingus.com.

Can I earn Gold Circle points on tickets purchased with gift vouchers?
Yes. You can earn Gold Circle points on tickets purchased with vouchers for valid Aer Lingus scheduled flights. See our Gold Circle section for more details on Earning Points.
- If a gift voucher balance remains unused, is the money lost?
A voucher is valid for 12 months (365 days) from the date of issues/activation and any unused voucher will be expired at this date.

What happens if the email is lost or accidentally deleted?
Please contact the Aer Lingus helpdesk to get the voucher email to be sent to your email address.
- Are Aer Lingus gift vouchers valid if purchased anywhere online other than aerlingus.com, such a third party auction website?
No. Vouchers may not be resold or bartered by any unlicensed vendor. Unlawful resale or attempted resale is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation.
