Baby Push Chair
The push-chair must be checked in with the baggage and can be handed down at the gate if required (Except for flights departing London Heathrow where push-chairs are not permitted to be handed down at the gate and must be handed in with checked baggage).Shorthaul

Cabin/Carry-On Baggage Allowance
Aer Lingus flights (Shorthaul and Longhaul)

- Baggage is restricted to one piece per passenger.
- The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are: 55cm x 40cm x 20cm or 22in x 16in x 8in.
- Baggage must weigh under 10 kgs/22lbs and be small enough to fit in overhead bins or under your seat.
- These limits are strictly enforced.
- Additional small items (camera, personal stereo, overcoat, handbag or laptop) are allowed.
- EU security rules regarding liquids, gels and aerosols in cabin baggage apply. Details of these rules can be found here: Prohibited Items.
- Flights departing the USA are subject to TSA security rules. Details of these rules can be found by clicking here: tsa.gov.
- Passengers in Row 1, or at an emergency exit, MUST store baggage in an overhead bin.
Aer Lingus Regional flights (Flight Nos 3000-4000 operated by Aer Arann)

- Baggage is restricted to one piece per passenger.
- The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are: 48cm x 36cm x 21cm or 19in x 14in x 8in.
- Baggage must weigh under 7kgs/15lbs and be small enough to fit in overhead bins or under your seat.
- These limits are strictly enforced.
- Additional small items (camera, personal stereo, overcoat, handbag or laptop) are allowed.

Carriage of Animals & Pets
- We do not accept Animals/Pets on shorthaul flights, (Ireland, UK, Europe). This is due to insufficient ventilation in the cargo hold on our shorthaul Airbus fleet.
- Animals/Pets can be booked on direct flights between Ireland and New York, Boston, Chicago and Orlando on Aer Lingus flights only. All animals will be transported in the Cargo Hold.
- Animals need to be at least 10 weeks old when travelling on an Aer Lingus flight.
- At time of booking, Aer Lingus Reservation staff must be informed if you plan to travel with a pet and or animal. Separate procedures apply for passengers travelling with Service Animals (Seeing Eye Dogs).
- Animals can be confirmed on Aer Lingus flights at the earliest 30 days prior to travel.
- Due to industry reports of serious damage to aircraft as a result of dogs becoming loose in aircraft holds, the following breeds of dogs are not to be carried under any circumstances on any Aer Lingus aircraft.

Travelling from USA:
- PET EXPRESS will make the arrangements to ship your pet(s) to Ireland on behalf of Aer Lingus. Contact Pet Express at 1-866-PET-MOVE or visit their website at petexpress.us. Final transit destination for animals/pets transported from North America by Aer Lingus is Dublin.
Please note: animals cannot be shipped from the USA on Fridays or Saturdays.
Travelling from Ireland:
- Pets (cats & dogs only) can be booked as excess baggage by contacting Aer Lingus reservations. There is a €160 per flight sector per crate payable at the airport on the day of departure.
If the passenger is not travelling with the animal, or for the carriage of any animal other than household pets, they will be booked as cargo.
Carriage of Electrical Equipment
Cameras
Camera Equipment can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passengers responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
DVDs
DVD's can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal
checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise
Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the
passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to
prevent damage.
DVD's are permitted to be played inflight on laptops with DVD drive, except during taxi, take-off, initial climb, approach and landing.
Gameboys
Gameboys can be carried when traveling with Aer Lingus. The normal
checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise
Aer Lingus beforehand that you are carrying these items. It is the
passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to
prevent damage.
Gameboys are permitted to be played inflight except during taxi, take-off, initial climb, approach and landing.
Laptops
Laptops can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal
checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise

prevent damage.
Laptops with CD ROM or DVD drive, and palmtop organizers are permitted to be used in flight but not during taxi, take-off, initial climb, approach and landing.
PC's
PC's can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal
checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise
Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the
passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to
prevent damage.
PC's are not permitted to be used on board.
Portable TV
Portable TV's (no larger than 14" screen) can be carried when
travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules
apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that
you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to
ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Stereo Equipment
Stereo equipment can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Tradesman Tools

Crystal
Crystal can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Hats
Hats can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Large Gift Wrapped Items
Large Gift Wrapped Gifts can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus, these packages could be subject to a security check. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Liquids
Liquids are not permitted onboard unless they are in individual containers with a capacity not greater than 100 millilitres or equivalent and contained in one transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a capacity not exceeding 1 litre. The contents of the plastic bag shall fit comfortably and the bag shall be completely closed.
Liquids include gels, pastes, lotions, liquid/solid mixtures and the contents of pressurised containers, e.g. toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrups, perfume, shaving foam, aerosols and other items of similar consistency. Exemptions may be granted if the liquid is:
- to be used during the trip and is either required for medical purposes or a special dietary requirement, including baby food. When requested to, the passenger shall provide proof of authenticity of the exempted liquid; or
- obtained airside beyond the point where boarding passes are controlled from outlets that are subject to approved security procedures as part of the airport security programme, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase at that airport on that day; or
- obtained in the security restricted area from outlets that are subject to approved security procedures as part of the airport security programme; or
- obtained at another Community airport, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase at airside at that airport on that day; or
- obtained on board an aircraft of a Community air carrier, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase on board that aircraft on that day.
Paintings
Paintings can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Pictures

Toolboxes
Toolboxes can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage. The normal excess check and cabin baggage rules apply.
Wedding Cake
Wedding Cakes can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed in order to prevent damage.
Wedding Dress
Wedding Dresses can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. There is no requirement to advise Aer Lingus before hand that you are carrying these items. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they are packed/ boxed and should be able to fit in the overhead compartment in order to prevent damage.

Carriage of Musical Instruments
- A musical instrument can be carried in the cabin provided it is within the hand baggage size/weight limits.
(The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are - 55cms x 40cms x 20cms or 22ins x 16ins x 8ins)
(The maximum weight for a cabin bag is - 10kgs/22lbs or 7kgs/15lbs for Aer Lingus Regional flights)
It must be small enough to fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front. - If the instrument is larger than the permitted hand baggage size, e.g. Cello, and the passenger wishes to carry the item in the cabin, they have to purchase an additional seat for the instrument (this can be done online and normal charges and taxes apply). There will be no baggage allowance for the purchase of an additional seat for the instrument. The instrument should be booked in the name of Cello/One Ms or Harp/One Ms. The actual weight of the instrument including its carry case, must not exceed 75kgs/165lbs.
- Larger musical equipment (including but not limited to double bass, harps and drums) is unsuitable for carriage in the cabin and must be checked in. If the passenger wishes to carry the instrument in the hold, then a special handling fee applies and it is charged at the same rate as golf equipment and skis (currently €30 online, or €40 at the airport). Normal excess baggage rates will also apply.

Carriage of Sports Equipment
The maximum weight allowable for carriage of sports equipment is 15kgs/33lbs. Normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to this maximum allowance.
Bicycles
Aer Lingus will carry bicycles and tandem bicycles as checked baggage: A maximum of 1 Bicycle per person. For flights between Ireland and North America bicycles are part of the free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
For ALL other flights there is a fee of €40 or equivalent payable at the airport on the day of departure. This fee is charged on an each-way basis for outbound and return journeys.
There is no charge for bicycles for passengers traveling in Business Class.
Aer Lingus permits passengers to travel with bicycles where there is space available.
Aer Lingus will pre book a maximum of 10 bicycles per flight, except in the following stations where due to high cargo volumes a restriction of 6 bicycles per flight applies:
- Prague
- Vilnius
- Lisbon
- Warsaw
- Frankfurt
- Zurich
- Vienna
- Krakow
- Amsterdam
- Budapest
If you are travelling on Aer Lingus regional flights the maximum bicycles allowed is 2 per flight. This is all subject to availability on the day.
Bicycles cannot be booked online. To book the bicycle the passenger must contact their local reservations office.
Packing
Before transportation of bicycles, the handlebars shall be lowered and fixed sideways, the pressure of the tyres reduced to avoid any problems in the unlikely event of pressurisation changes during flight and, if possible, invert the pedals.
When necessary, sharp projective parts should be protected with plastic or cardboard to avoid damage to other load.
From Amsterdam boxes will be provided at a fee of €20.00.
Check-in with a Bicycle
Passengers must allow sufficient time at check-in so that security and handling procedures can be completed. Bicycles already confirmed by reservation will be checked in automatically. When a bicycle has not been confirmed it will be carried on a stand-by basis.
In all cases, the passenger should arrive at Check-in at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Diving Equipment
Aer Lingus will carry diving equipment as checked baggage:
Diving equipment can be carried when travelling with Aer Lingus. The normal checked/cabin baggage rules apply. Any excess baggage will be charged at excess rates.
Fishing Equipment
Aer Lingus will carry fishing equipment as checked baggage. Fishing Equipment includes the Fishing Rod, Case and Tackle Basket.
For flights between Ireland and North America fishing equipment is part of the free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
There is no charge for fishing equipment for passengers traveling in Business Class.
Fishing equipment is subject to a fee of €30 or equivalent payable online prior to departure or a fee of €40 or equivalent, payable at the airport on the day of departure. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys.
Golf Bags
Aer Lingus carry Golf Bags as checked baggage:
Golfing equipment may consist of one golf bag containing golf clubs and golf equipment.
A maximum of 1 golf bag per person is allowed.
On US flights where the Piece Concept is applied and golfing equipment is within the passenger's normal baggage allowance, there is no extra charge. If the Golfing Equipment is in addition to the passenger's baggage allowance, normal excess baggage charges using the Piece Concept apply
There is no charge for golf bags for passengers travelling in Business Class.
For all other flights a maximum of 1 golf bag weighing up to 15kgs per person is permitted and a fee of €30 or equivalent payable online prior to departure or a fee of €40 or equivalent, payable at the airport on the day of departure applies. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys. Excess baggage charges apply if the golf bag is in excess of 15kgs.
Groups travelling with golf clubs should contact Aer Lingus directly to make special arrangements and to ensure there is enough space in the aircraft hold to carry the golf equipment.
If you are travelling on Aer Lingus regional flights the maximum golf bags allowed is 12 golf bags per flight. This is all subject to availability on the day.
Ski
Aer Lingus will carry skis as checked baggage:
For flights between Ireland and North America skis are part of free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
There is no charge for skis for passengers travelling in Business Class. For all other flights a maximum of 1 Pair of skis, boots and poles per person and a fee of €30 or equivalent payable online prior to departure or a fee of €40 or equivalent, payable at the airport on the day of departure applies. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys.
Surf Boards
Aer Lingus will carry Surf Boards as checked baggage:
For flights between Ireland and North America surfboard is part of the free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
There is no charge for Surf Boards for passengers traveling in Business class.
Surfboards are subject to a fee of €30 or equivalent payable online prior to departure or a fee of €40 or equivalent, payable at the airport on the day of departure. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys.
Please note that Surf Boards must not exceed 2.77m in length (approx 110 inches) and must be packed in cushioning material such as bubble wrapping so as to protect them against damage.
Wind Surf Equipment
Aer Lingus will carry wind surf equipment as checked baggage:
For flights between Ireland and North America wind surf equipment is part of the free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
There is no charge for wind surf equipment for passengers traveling in Business class.
Wind Surf Equipment cannot be booked online.
To book the wind surf equipment the passenger must contact their local reservations office.
Wind surf equipment is subject to a fee of €40 payable at the airport on the day of departure. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys. A maximum of 1 Board, 1 Boom, 1 Sail and 1 Mast per person.
No item may exceed 2.77m in length (110 inches). Wind surfing equipment must be packed to avoid damage.
Give sufficient time at check in for security and handling procedures. We recommend you arrive at check-in at least 90-minute pre flight.
All items must be packed so as to protect them against damage and avoid damage to other items of baggage.
Snow Boards
Aer Lingus will carry Snow Boards as checked baggage:
For flights between Ireland and North America Snow Boards are part of free allowance, normal excess baggage rates apply if the passenger carries excess to the free allowance.
There is no charge for Snow Boards for passengers travelling in Business Class.
For all other routes a maximum of 1 Snow Board per person and a fee of €30 or equivalent payable online prior to departure or a fee of €40 or equivalent, payable at the airport on the day of departure applies. This fee is charged each-way on outbound and return journeys.
Sports Guns
Aer Lingus will carry sports guns and ammunition cartridges subject to the following:
- Sport Guns are to be dismantled.
- Sports Guns when dismantled are to be loaded with checked baggage.
- Sport Guns, ammunition and cartridges must be packed separately from other baggage.
- Sport Guns, ammunition and cartridges must be available for inspection by security.
- Ammunition is limited to 5kg per passenger and must be packed in containers of wood, metal, or fireboard with the contents protected against any movement.
- Subject to an extra charge for flights within Europe.
Only the licensed firearm owner may check-in a Sport Gun upon presentation of their valid Firearm License at check-in.
Note: Sports Weapons/Firearms/Ammunition cannot be carried on Aer Lingus regional flights.
Fees For Sports Guns And Ammunition
€40/£32 or equivalent for all flights within Europe. (£37 for flights departing London Heathrow). This fee is payable at the airport on the day of departure. For flights to/from North America sports guns and ammunition may be carried under the normal baggage allowance.
Gas cigarette lighters are prohibited on all flights to and from the USA. Gas cigarette lighters can currently be carried on the person only on UK and European Routes.

Checked Baggage Allowance
Shorthaul flights (within Europe)
- Economy - Low Fare - Baggage fees apply for each checked bag.
- Economy - Plus Fare - Baggage fees apply for 2nd and subsequent checked bags.
- Economy - Flex Fare - Baggage fees apply for 3rd and subsequent checked bags.
- No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same booking.
- A maximum of 3 bags per passenger can be booked on the website.
- A maximum of 20kgs (44lbs) in total checked baggage weight per passenger.
- Excess weight is charged per kilo per flight in excess of the allowance.
- Discount excess weight fee available if the fee is paid up to two hours prior to departure online. Standard excess weight fee is charged at the airport.
- Infant baggage allowance is ONE collapsible buggy/stroller only, free of charge.
- Sports Equipment such as golf bags or skis will be charged at the applicable rate.
- The fees are non-refundable.

Longhaul flights (to/from USA)
- Economy - Low Fare - Passengers are permitted 1 bag under 23kgs (50lbs) free of charge.
- Economy - Flex Fare - Passengers are permitted 2 bags under 23kgs (50lbs) free of charge.
- Business Class - Passengers are permitted 3 bags free of charge.
- A maximum of 3 additional bags per passenger can be booked on the website.
- Bag Size: One bag at 158cms/62ins, second and subsequent bags at 140cms/55ins.
- The weight of any one piece of baggage must not exceed 32Kgs/70lbs.
- Any additional bags and excess weight (23kgs - 32kgs) will be charged.
- No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same booking.
- For Aer Lingus journeys between North America and the UK or Continental Europe, the long-haul checked baggage allowance will apply for all flights within the itinerary, unless there is a stopover of more than 14 days in Ireland, then each flight within the itinerary will have the relevant shorthaul or longhaul baggage policy applied to that part of the journey.
- Infant baggage allowance is 10kgs (22lbs) in addition to one collapsible stroller.
- Sports Equipment such as golf bags, skis etc is carried as standard baggage.
- The fees are non-refundable.

Special Items
- Medical equipment (dialysis machines, wheelchairs etc.) are carried free of charge.
- Small musical instruments may qualify as hand baggage. Medium sized instruments may be carried in the cabin if an individual seat for the instrument is purchased.
- If the instrument will not fit in the extra seat, it must be checked in and normal excess baggage rates apply.

Longhaul Baggage fees (to/from USA)
- Economy Class - Low Fare - 2nd and subsequent bag weighing up to 23kg (50lbs) will be charged.
- Economy Class - Flex Fare - 3rd and subsequent bag weighing up to 23kgs will be charged as below.
- Business Class - 3 bags up to a total of 69kgs (150lbs) carried free of charge.

For Aer Lingus journeys between North America and the UK or Continental Europe, the long-haul checked baggage allowance will apply for all flights within a single itinerary or reservation, unless there is a stopover of more than 14 days in Ireland, then each flight within the itinerary will have the relevant shorthaul or longhaul baggage policy applied to that part of the journey. Relevant shorthaul or longhaul policies shall apply to itineraries booked as separate reservations.

Cabin Baggage: Cabin baggage is restricted to one piece per passenger, weighing under 10kgs/22lbs in total. It must fit into an overhead bin or under your seat.
Hand Baggage EU Regulations
To protect you against the new threat of liquid explosives, the European Union (EU) has adopted new security rules that restrict the amount of liquids that you can take through security checkpoints. They apply to all passengers departing from airports in the EU whatever their destination.

Immigrating/Emigrating Baggage
From North America
Passengers will be charged the normal excess rate. Contact your local Freight Forwarder for all cargo reservations.
For all other routes
Passengers will be charged the normal excess rate. Contact your local Air Freight Company for all cargo reservations.
Baggage with other airlines
Aer Lingus will through-check baggage as a courtesy onto any carrier that have a baggage agreement in place, upon presentation of documentation of the itinerary showing Aer Lingus and partner carrier flights on the same ticket. The baggage allowance for these itineraries will be subject to the allowances listed on your ticket. Please contact your local reservations office for further information if you are unsure of applicable baggage allowances.

Please be aware that Aer Lingus will no longer check bags all the way through if a passenger has a separate ticket with another airline even if they provide the separate tickets at check-in. The only time this will be done is if they are connecting Aer Lingus to Aer Lingus.
If a passenger has a through fare/tickets they will be checked in to their end destination as well as their bags.

- Clubs or batons - rigid or flexible - e.g. Billy clubs, blackjacks (truncheon of leather covered lead with flexible shaft), night sticks & batons.
- Cricket Bats
- Golf clubs
- Hockey and Hurley sticks

- Kayak and Canoe paddles
- Skateboards
- Billiard, snooker and pool cues.
- Fishing rods
- Martial arts equipment e.g. knuckle dusters, clubs, coshes, rice flails, num-chucks, cubatons, kubasaunts.
- (D) Explosives and flammable substances, any explosive or highly combustible substances which poses a risk to the health of passengers and crew or the security/safety of the aircraft property including:
- Ammunition
- Blasting caps
- Detonators & fuses
- Explosives and explosive devices
- Replica or imitation explosive material or devices
- Mines & other explosive military stores
- Grenades of all types
- Gas & gas containers e.g. Butane, propane, acetylene, oxygen - in large volume
- Non-flammable gas cylinder fitted into a life jacket
- Fireworks, flares in any form and other pyrotechnics (including party poppers, toy caps and Christmas crackers)
- Non safety matches
- Smoke generating canisters or cartridges
- Flammable liquid fluid e.g. Petrol/gasoline, diesel, lighter fluid, alcohol, ethanol
- Aerosol spray paint
- Turpentine & paint thinner
- Alcoholic beverages exceeding 70% by volume (140% proof)
- Camping stoves & fuel containers that have contained a flammable liquid fuel
- (E) Chemical and toxic substances, any chemical or toxic substance which poses a risk to the health of passengers and crew or the security/safety of aircraft or property including:
- Acids and alkalis e.g. spillable "wet" batteries.
- Lithium ion batteries
- Corrosive or Bleaching Substances - e.g. mercury, chlorine
- Disabling or incapacitating sprays - e.g. mace, pepper spray, tear gas
- Radioactive material - e.g. medicinal or commercial isotopes
- Poisons
- Infectious or biological hazardous material e.g. infected blood, bacteria and viruses
- Material capable of spontaneous ignition or combustion
- Fire extinguishers (except as authorised by fire protocols and as aircraft emergency equipment).
- (F) Liquids:

Liquids are not permitted onboard unless they are in individual containers with a capacity not greater than 100 millilitres or equivalent and contained in one transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a capacity not exceeding 1 litre. The contents of the plastic bag shall fit comfortably and the bag shall be completely closed. Liquids include gels, pastes, lotions, liquid/solid mixtures and the contents of pressurised containers, e.g. toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrups, perfume, shaving foam, aerosols and other items of similar consistency. - Exemptions may be granted if the liquid is:
- to be used during the trip and is either required for medical purposes or a special dietary requirement, including baby food. When requested to, the passenger shall provide proof of authenticity of the exempted liquid; or
- obtained airside beyond the point where boarding passes are controlled from outlets that are subject to approved security procedures as part of the airport security programme, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase at that airport on that day; or
- obtained in the security restricted area from outlets that are subject to approved security procedures as part of the airport security programme; or
- obtained at another Community airport, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase at airside at that airport on that day; or
- obtained on board an aircraft of a Community air carrier, on condition that the liquid is packed in a bag that is both tamper evident and displays satisfactory proof of purchase on board that aircraft on that day.
The following prohibited items shall not be placed in checked-in baggage/hold baggage:
- Explosives, including detonators, fuses, grenades, mines and explosives.
- Gases; Propane, butane.
- Flammable liquids, including Gasoline, methanol.
- Flammable solids and reactive substances, including Magnesium, firelighters, fireworks flares.
- Oxidizers and organic peroxides, including Bleach, car body repair kits.
- Toxic or infectious substances, including rat poison, infected blood.
- Radioactive material, including medicinal or commercial isotopes.
- Corrosives, including mercury, vehicle batteries.
- Vehicle fuel system components which have contained fuel.
- Guns are to be dismantled.
- They will only be carried in the baggage hold of the aircraft.
- They must be packed separately from other baggage.
- They must be packed one gun per case.
- They must be available for inspection by security.
- Ammunition/cartridges must also be loaded in the baggage hold and must be available for inspection.
- They will be subject to a max baggage allowance of 30k including arms and ammunition.
- All government and legal regulations must be complied with.
- All documentation and licenses are the passengers responsibility.
- Subject to an extra charge for the carriage of sports guns and ammunition.
Only the licensed firearm owner may check-in a Sport Gun upon presentation of their valid Firearm License at check-in.
Note: Sports Weapons/Firearms/Ammunition cannot be carried on Aer Lingus regional flights.
Fees For Sports Guns And Ammunition
€30/£20/AED125 for all flights within Europe. (£25 departing London Heathrow). For flights to/from North America sports guns and ammunition may be carried under the normal baggage allowance.

From North America
Unaccompanied baggage will not be accepted at check-in and may only be carried as CARGO any baggage carried as cargo needs to be pre-booked through local Freight Forwarder.
All other Routes
Unaccompanied Baggage will not be accepted at check-in and may only be carried as CARGO.
Any baggage carried as cargo needs to be pre-booked through local Air Freight Company.
