Aer Lingus & UNICEF

Change for GoodTM is the in-flight collection of unwanted foreign notes and coins on all long-haul Aer Lingus flights, which supports UNICEF's global mission for children in over 150 of the world's poorest countries and territories.

In 2007, UNICEF Ireland and Aer Lingus are marking ten years of this incredible partnership, which has raised over €6.25 million (US$8 million) to date. Every day, simply by putting left over notes and coins into Change for GoodTM envelopes, Aer Lingus passengers are bringing hope, and building a better future for children whose lives have been torn apart by war, natural disaster and poverty.

Actor and UNICEF Ireland Ambassador Liam Neeson has been the public face of the Change for GoodTM Campaign from the very beginning. Aer Lingus passengers on long-haul flights will be familiar with the in-flight video for "Change for GoodTM, which Liam narrates.

UNICEF Ireland is grateful to Aer Lingus passengers, cabin crew and staff for their continued support. Throughout the world, Change for GoodTM is helping make lasting change to the lives of the world's poorest children.

For example,

  • €3 provides school supplies for one child,
  • €5.50 buys one insecticide treated net that lasts five years and protects a mother and child against malaria
  • US$17 protects a child for life against polio, measles, tetanus, whooping cough, TB and diphtheria.

Liam Neeson, Special Patron to UNICEF Ireland, is the public face of UNICEF: "It is good to give, to supply life-saving drugs that will save a child's life, or provide clean water in a village. Whatever you do will change a child's life for the better, whether it is by making a donation on board, or by making a Change for Good happen each day."
